Bankers for Net Zero and Climeworks will convene parliamentarians, industry experts and businesses to discuss direct air capture and storage (DAC+S).
Direct air capture is a key solution to fight climate change and help the UK achieve its 2050 net zero target.
The technology captures CO₂ directly from the air – thus reducing the atmospheric concentration of carbon dioxide and removing historic emissions. Direct air capture, as part of the carbon removal industry, has been cited as a trillion-dollar business opportunity.
This Parliamentary roundtable will offer an introduction to the technology, how it fits into the UK’s decarbonisation strategy and why it is so important.
