Session Objective: The aim of this session is to explore how to improve the quality, consistency, and usability of sustainability data from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UK, in order to better support their role in the transition to net zero. It seeks to address both the challenges SMEs face in reporting emissions and the difficulties financial institutions (FIs) encounter in using that data for decision-making. The session will highlight the emerging solutions, including the development of a common data infrastructure, that can unlock more effective capital allocation and support for SMEs on their decarbonisation journey.
